A Gentle + Classical Easter is a 2 unit, 2-week Christ-focused Easter celebration for children 2-8 years. In this unit study, we spend the two weeks leading up to Easter reading the TRUE story of Easter (at an age-appropriate level) through brilliant picture books. We learn simple catechisms about Christ, memorize scripture, explore and observe nature, enjoy simple activities and crafts, work on motor skills, play with storyboards, and go on scavenger hunts!

Who is it for?

This unit study was designed with all of your children under age 8 in mind. There are two book-level options to accommodate your youngest listeners alongside those with a little more patience.

In the supply kit, you will find the following items: 

• Soil, small rocks, 1 large rock, cup, and wheatgrass seed for creating ONE Resurrection Tomb Garden

Each Resurrection Egg Kit includes 12 white plastic eggs, a carton, and 11 symbols for each egg to represent a portion of scripture from the Easter story. Additionally, you'll receive 12 scripture cards (4x6") that highlight the scripture represented by each symbol in the kit.

You can read one card and open one egg each day leading up to Easter (for 12 days) OR you can enjoy reading through all the cards and opening the eggs together on Easter morning.

What denomination is this from?

Our worldview is basic orthodox Christianity. Look at our sample images in the shop listing to see an example of a catechism. Our catechisms are extremely foundational and should be upheld by all mainstream Christian denominations.

Do you promote the Easter bunny in this product?

We mention him in the teacher's guide ("hop like a bunny") and include Resurrection Eggs as an activity which obviously have the egg connection. We have coloring pages and lacing pages connected to eggs as well. But we do not utilize books that promote the Easter bunny tradition. You can disregard those printables if you don't want any hint of the Easter bunny in your studies.

I don't find this unit study affordable.

I'm sorry you're feeling that way! All holiday unit studies are absolutely optional, and you can pass on this unit study completely. You can also buy digital, print at home with an affordable ink option like the Epson Ecotank, and use what you have on hand for supplies. Also, please use YouTube, your library, and secondhand books rather than buying everything new off of Amazon. ❤️

I have the original digital study. What has changed in the files?

• The guide is now organized as a two-unit, 10-day study instead of just 10 days.
• I have specific instructions and scripture for the Resurrection Eggs instead of just a link.
• I've simplified it and provided a detailed, at-a-glance schedule for each week.
• I've added a 2023 calendar to show when we would ideally begin the unit study to end at Easter.

You're sold out. Will you have more available later on?

We have 150 supply kits, 150 Resurrection Egg kits, 50 flashcard sets, and 300 total curriculum sets at launch. We will not be adding more to our inventory in 2023.
